    With spring in the air has anyone heard the first cuckoo yet.

    yeah, heard one whilst out in the peak district on thurs evening. was a lovely evening-watching lapwings,golden plovers,curlew,red grouse and pheasants all in the same field,with a cuckoo as a sound track!

    Been around here since early April. Recently there has been a lot of cucoo-ing very loudly close by, but I just cant get to see it. Some poor bluetit or robin is in for a surprise. :eek:

    Yes the past 2 weeks few miles to the west of Wolverhampton.

    I'm so jelous! I'd love to hear/see a Cuckoo! The closest I'll get is Cockoo-spit! I live on a busy concrete council estate and all we get to see are Starlings, although we've been watching a very brave male Sparrow battle it out with them over the last few days. Saw a Kestrel fly over the other day too. I'd like more birds to visit, but I'm afraid if I put food out for them I'd lure them to a nasty end having pet cats!
