Cucs that are cornichons!

    Packet obviously mis labelled but at least they have grown. However as you can see from the photos some are LARGE and so will have to rethink about how to pickle these ones. All cleaned up and ready for salting tomorrow and then into whit wine vinegar.

      Did the pickling this morning. Used this years garlic and some of last years chillies in the mix with the white vinegar. Added some bay leaves from the garden as well. Hope they stay crisp.

        If you have fennel, or know someone who has fennel growing in the garden is a good addition. A few sprigs of the ferny leaves in each jar gives an authentic cornichon flavour.
