cucumber flowers

    Having a go at cucumbers this year. my plant is about 4ft and loaded with flowers. Its an F1 female but this week i noticed about half a dozen flowers appear and open very quickly. I think they are males

    the other flowers look like they have a fruit.

    I believe i pull the first ones off asap?

    Yes, 1st photo are males, second photo is female.

    If F1 Female-only variety then remove all male flowers. You may get a few at the beginning of the season but should get no more. Supposedly F1 female-only varieties only produce males when stressed - so perhaps review your husbandry in case anything upsetting them? Cold at night? Excess of water followed by very dry before watering again? that sort of thing :blue thumb:
