Hi everyone, just wondering how long it should take for cucumbers to germinate & if they have to be at a specific temperature? I started mine inside about a week and a half ago, I put them in the greenhouse about four days ago as it was very sunny during the day but no sign of germination, I'm growing a slightly unusual round variety called 'crystal apple' any advice welcome.

The nights are still very cold. I made a propagator from an old fish tank , a 60 watt heat tube and a stat. Kept it pegged at 20c and cucumbers were up in a week. Theyre still in there ,about 5 inch high. They do need warmth I think.

Ideal temperature is about 20 to 25 C. Germination can take a couple of weeks so don't give up yet!

I start mine in a heated propagator at about 22C and they usually pop up in 10 to 14 days.
