Can anyone tell me just what's going on here? I have had a couple of casualties already. Am I overwatering?
The seedlings are just withering in some cases the stems ate thinning just under the starting leaves the others you can see from the photos.

Cucumbers do need to be well watered but respond badly to having a lot of moisture around the base of the stem. You just have to be very careful about watering even up to the stage of planting a well developed plant in it's final position. It helps if you mound up the spot where you are going to plant them, then when you water them, it's less likely to remain wet around the stem. There is stil time to plant more seeds, good luck.

Hi John your plants look really wet I keep mine damp but not really wet if you get my meaning, maybe this could be your problem.
Although mine are on the wondow sill at the moment so not sure if that effects them differently than in the greenhouse.Hel.xxx.

Hi John. Not only are your plants too wet, but what are the blueish granules? You aren't feeding them at this size are you?

I've just started feeding mine now and still very little.

Hi John, No I'm not feeding them! The blue things are slug pellets as the seedlings are in the greenhouse(unheated).
Thanks for the comments and keep them coming if anyone has anything else to offer.
So far I think I'll opt for the overwatering, the cold and unheated greenhouse. The overwatering has come about by having the seed trays in a propagator lid so they don't drain so freely.
    I think I'll try a fresh batch.
    Many thanks,
    John
