Having trouble with a mole(s) in my vedgie patch. Here on the Isle of Wight, I recorded no rain in May and only 30 m/m in June. Actually, just over 200 m/m in the last 7 months. Consequently, lots of watering. This has attracted a mole, or moles who run down the lines of seeds in search of worms attracted by the water. Carnage, and various traps have not worked. They leave no hills at all, just raised runs. The tomatoes have all got curly leaves and not looking their best. Could this be over watering or just reaction to the moles? (or lack of water?)

What a rotten shame about the tomato plants. Have you tryed a mole scarer? its basically a virating shell you push in their tunnel. Moles don't like noise and go off to get away from it. I've got one and it has worked really well.

They look quite good to me, I have a large leaved tomato variety (Stupice) and that has gone all curly like yours, its producing tomatoes just fine though. The other varieties next to Stupice are all looking normal (not curly) so I think it might just be their growth habit.

    What variety is yours?

Well a mixture, Marmens, cherry, and some French seed we brought back,,,(shhh!!) they all seem to have curly leaf and rather thick stems. I did pile on the horse manure over the winter...

Curly leaves on toms is a perennial problem.

In short it happens every year, and has nothing to do with moles, it just means they are doing well as far as I'm concerned.
