    Hi fellow gardeners
When do you all cut back your perennials? I used to do it in the Autumn but I'm sure that some of you wait until the Spring, I think I'm going to try that this year and see if there are any benefits [IMG]

Hi Stingo, I do it in spring cos I think that the old plant will protect the new one from frost etc. Don't know if it would but too wussy to try the Autumn cut back. (Also I forget where I plant things so it stops me from digging them up later :D  )

I agree with Celia. I think it does give them some protection over the winter. Its also a good point about knowing where they are.

Think I'll try the Spring then, good point about knowing where they are many a time I've forgotten and attempted to plant something else only to find a plant already there :D

Also the protection factor must be a positive one and I can put off the hard work until next year.
