I read in one of the weekend paper gardening supplements that now is the time to cut back strawberry leaves but it didn't saw how.

Do I cut them all back, or just a few, how much leaf should I leave on. This is my third year growing strawberries and I have never cut them back before, however they are getting a bit crowded. I have pegged out my runners into pots so I can replace the older plants but last years new ones are in need of cutting back

    Any advice please

    Barbara

Well, again I've learnt something new- I've never done this, is it to direct the plants' energy to roots rather than leaves for winter?
Just going to sort strawberries out today so I'll try it!

Just off out to do mine as well. At least it will tidy the lot up.

    Thanks for the advice
