About 10 years ago, I got a Japanese bamboo in a tub. Now some of the stalks look like they've died and need to be cut. I was able to cut a couple with a saw, but some of the stalks are too close together to get a normal saw in there. They're about 25 mm (1 inch) apart.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to cut the other dead stalks. Of the big 3 stalks in the picture, the middle one is one which looks dead.

what about grabbing onto it and taking it down (hoping that the roots are dead also)? It must be easier than cutting it...
