    Hi All

Anyone cuts lawn with scythe? Saw this vid on Youtube, and thought it might be a good idea, but wasn't sure.

I have one (Austrian design) which is excellent for cutting long grass (meadow-type areas), nettles, docks and weedy areas. Brambles to a limited extent. I much prefer the scythe to a strimmer/brushcutter. I haven't really tried it on the lawn, but cutting fine grass like in the top video is more tricky - you'd need a finely sharpened blade with a delicate edge (rather than a more robust edge which does well for coarser weeds).

Appears to be a very skillful operation - and dangerous ! I'll stick with my Bosch Rotak thanks.

It would cripple me to use a scythe now. My dad used to scythe my granddads garden back in the sixties. :)
