    Hi

Now being a complete novice regarding this subject where does one start and what plants are the easiest to take cuttings from to transplant.

I am certain there are many experts out there that may be able to offer some advice on this subject.

It actually would a be a shorter list if I put down all those things which do not grow from cuttings. BUT for a practice at doing it, go for Fuschias, they are so easy. Then in terms of herbaceous stuff, penstemons are about the easiest. Once you have succeded with these then the plant world is your oyster.

Where would you actually take the cutting from the Fuschia (ie) below a bud and then put it into rooting powder ??

Geraniums I always find dead easy. I just cut off young shoots and stick them in a mug on my windowsill. I pot them up when there are pleanty of roots.
    Good Luck

Fuchias, taake apiece about 2 inches long, cut just below where a pair of leaves come from the stem. Pull the bottom two leaves off and put stem in a post of compost, no hormone powder needed. Water. Cover with a plastic bag and wait till you see roots coming from the base of the plant pot. Remove the bag and allow cutting to get used to the outside world for a while and away you go. Only rule I know of is a simple one. Take one cutting and it will not root, take a dozen and they all will.
