I have just moved to Dublin from central London with two cycads. they survived quite happily outside in London. Will they do the same in Dublin?

I have a small cycad and leave it outdoors in the summer, and bring it in for the winter into a well lit spot.
    seems to enjoy that....
    hope this helps

Hi jcdub, never been to Dublin I'm afraid, I guess the winters are reasonably mild, but possibly wet.
Is this revoluta that you have?

I have a revoluta outside that survives minus 5C, but I think its at its limit.

Think I'd have a look around and see what other exotics the locals might be growing, it could give an indication as to what the winters are like.

thanks Pete - there are huge cordylines in the area - about 25 ft tall. A mature acacia and quite a few pelargoniums that are about 4ft tall, seems like quite a mild area. However, in central London where the plants were last winter there was no frost at all. If yours survive minus 5 I think I'll take the chance.
