    Hi all,

I'm looking to get a new mower and would like some advice please. I've always gone for the cylinder mower as recommended by my groundsman old man. The mower my old man had left beautiful stripes in the lawn and had a heavy roller on the back which he swore by. Thing is though is that I am finding it hard to find mowers of the same quality and build as my dad's. Instead I find a lot of Flymo type ones or cylinders that don't compete with the old one. Can anyone out there recommend a good cylinder or hovermower that will suit my relatively small lawn.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Matthew

How much are you intending to spend?

Hover mowers don't collect that much grass as they need to blow air down to support their weight when really you need to suck air up to collect the grass.

Rotary mowers give a good cut and some have a rear roller to give a stripe effect, plus you can use them as a lawn vac in the atumn to collect leaves.
