Has anyone out there got a Cypress [the type that looks a bit like a scots pine, not a Leylandii type] from which I could have a small branch? My daughter needs bark and foliage for her latest project, making Kyphi incense. We would greatly appreciate help!

do you know the name, Liz? Do you mean the cedar of lebanon? I'll have a look around the woods when out walking Bella tomorrow, and see if anything seems to fit the bill.

I've got a Lebanon cedar at the bottom of my garden, not mine but enough hangs over to make use of! Checked with daughter about cypress and I think maybe any variety except leylandii would do. Her recipe I think being American was indicating Lawsons' cypress, but I think a European variety would be better if trying to follow Egyptian origins. There is a lovely variegated huge one in the empty house next but one to me, I don't know if it's Leylandii or not though.
Your post made me laugh Dendy, my daughter is called Bella! :D
