Well My daffodils have punched there way through the ground and today i noticed them for the first time this year.
makes me feel as if the end of the winter is over!!!!
not really but at least it is the beginning of the growing season and with the shortest day in a few days things are all looking up.

cant wait to get back out in the garden and watch all the daffodils and tulips as they start to grow!!!

Some one said to me today, "as the days lenghten the cold strengthens".
I think its true but I agree Barra its nice to see things on the move.
I think we in the UK are pretty lucky really, even in the coldest months there is always something thats growing, allbeit slowly. [IMG]

There are a few Daffs just poking through here.
As my dad used to say after the shortest day 'it doesn't get late quite so early'
There is always a possibility we could have a really cold winter this time with prolonged frosts and even snow(not had any here for ten years or more).
The Snowdrops are also showing which like Daffs as you say are a sign of things on the move again. [IMG]

I've got "Spring Snowflake" in flower and "Love-in-a-Mist" with flower heads on. It doesn't make me think of Spring, just that the flowers have gone barmy.

My daffs aren't yet poking through although my grape hyacinths have been shooting up like crazy for a couple of months now.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in flower as I have got masses of them all round the garden and they do multiply so very well shame that the bigger versions aren't the same.

The annual show of Daffs on the 'Peanut Roundabout' Windsor started last week and flowering should continue through Christmas - it never fails to amaze me to see them flower so early and in the middle of a major road.......
