Er... well, you see, I posted some photos of our local wildflowers - but I put them in the wildlife section.... [IMG] What my Uncle Ted used to call "optical thrombosis" - a clot behind the camera. :D

So here are our two local sorts of wild daffodils - and I thought I'd show you a couple of photos of where we live so you can get the feel of the place as it were. For more piccies, I'm afraid you'll have to go to the "Flowers of the Lot" posts in wildlife.... Sorry about that!

This is our village, and our farm is the first three buildings on the right of the picture after the water tower:

And these are the buildings from a bit closer!:

That's beautiful, looks like our buildings but we're a bit further away from our village than you. I'm in the middle of orange orchards. Wouldn't fancy all your land ...

Daffs are lovely especially since I'm Welsh as is my Big Sis, Kedi-Gato from Germany!

Beautiful Hyla! Both the daffs (my favourite flower) and your farm, lots of work there though. You have a wonderful view from up on the hill. Do you use all of those buildings!!! Sorry if I appear to be nosey - I am!

The buildings are pretty much in use - the barn has our seventeen-foot caravan in it as well as some timber and other stuff in one side (like a ten-foot high locally-made wardrobe!!! I kid you not!!) and the other side is still full of pens for the ducks when they made foie gras here. There's quite a lot of garden gear in there, too. The two smaller rooms have all the maintenance kit - chainsaw, petrol and electric strimmers, rotavator (plus its plough, ridger, mowing bar etc.) and the garden tractor...trailer...leaf sweeper... So it's pretty full!! :D The swimming-pool kit's in there, too! So the tow-tug for the van has to live outside, as does the little Suzuki we use all the time.

The bakehouse will be my workshop very soon. It's in one of the "cellars" at the moment, but we want to convert two of those into more living space. The house is still in its original format, so we live on the first floor with storage above and below us. So we have a big set of steps up to the front of the house leading to a nice shady verandah which is great for eating outside - or watching the amazing thunderstorms we sometimes get without getting wet!!! This is the view over the valley:

Oh, I do LOVE that view, Ha! I may be coming to visit very soon ... warn Mrs Ha! Also, perhaps my Big Sis may be joining me! :D We can sleep in the barn ... we won't be fussy.

We have the amazing thunderstorms also here which we both love to watch and listen to. Exquisite!

K-G ... nosey? You and me? Never! How odd thought posting the same moment with our different times and way of life ... most odd! [IMG]

Will you join Sis and me, pete?

Ha, that verandah bit, that's what I want in front of ours, hopefully this year ... but then I've been hoping for lots of things for nine years now! Sigh!

You can see "mine" on my Casadinho link below but it needs updating like the aerial view and other things ... but I'm not the computer bod here, it's t'other half and he's busy with websites and such like.

Wonderful view H-a! Hubby and I might stop by when we drive to Portugal the next time, can't say when yet!

Goodness, you do need all that space for all the various types of equipment!

Be good to see you guys! If you're likely to be passing - PM me for the address!

Thanks for the comments, too - I agree, we're incredibly lucky, though the reasons why we ended up here make grim reading at times....

Simple fact is that you can buy a place like ours for the cost of an average sort of place in Britain these days. Even luckier for us - we got a bargain. The house needed lots of work, and the first few years were tight for money. But we're fine now, so - great life!!
