I have successfully stored dahlias over their third winter and have recently taken them from their storage to individual pots ready for later planting. Some of the tuber clusters are now so big that I found it hard to find a big enough pot and when I plant them, I'm going to need a foot square hole, space I can't really afford. My question is - can I safely remove some of the tubers that don't have new shoots and if so, how can I best identify which ones can go?

You can split them into several plants - have a look here.

Hi critical , the video has been really useful to me as well . I always find planting Dahlia tubers is like planting a set of bagpipes . Never to sure on which bit does the actual work .
