They are still going great so I haven't lifted any yet, normally I wait untill there's a good frost which levels them.

Question is; when's the best time to divide them? I can either do it when I lift them which would help get all the soil off and any rotten bits out ready for a dusting or I can divide them up in spring once the eyes start to swell and they are easier to see.

For storing they go into fish boxes with a bit of straw then into a brick garage

Mine are now over apart from those I grow in tubs so I will do my usual and lift and dry before splitting. Now have too many so will have to ditch a few of the 'Bishop' since I want to try a couple of new ones next year.

I generally split when the buds are up and dust with Sulphur.

Thanks chobart. Before planting seemed the obvious time to split but I've never really though about it before. I haven't used sulphur the last couple of years and haven't had any problems but maybe I've been lucky. I intend using it this year.

Chobart, if you are getting rid of a few tubers, why not put them on exchanges. I would sure love a couple.
