Has anyone had much experience in this?

Looking to DIY - not hire someone to do this.
Not looking to fully convert either, just damp proof for storage (drumkit etc.) and pop tumble dryer in etc.etc.

It's not a hugely damp cellar, has two brick-vents and one coal shoot.
Never had actual water in the cellar - just general damp feeling, so it's not a flooding problem.
It's got a good concrete floor. Looking at the idea of getting water proof membrane for the walls? Anyone done this? Any product recommendations?
