No one really likes dandelions in their gardens but if they were difficult to grow I think it would be a different matter.

And confess, who hasn't blown a 'clock' when no one else has been loking :D

Fresh young leaves are also a nice addition to a salad and if you can get enough flower heads that grow well away from any polution then they make an excellent flower wine.

Off topic I know but I found an old watch of my husbands whilst weeding the garden today - you know what happens, you take your watch off to sunbathe then mow the lawn and where is the watch!

Well this must have been a good 10 years ago - I asked him if he was trying to grow a clock ;)

Dandelions are possibly the most maligned and unappreciated wild flower in Britain. Gorgeous golden sheets of them cover the motorway verges at present. Culpeper list its medicinal qualities and it is good in salad too.

What do most of us do with these golden glories? Spray or dig them out of our lawn!

I drink dandelion tea every day..made from the leaves..its good for your liver and water retention..it doesnt taste very nice but you will soon get used to it...some people drink dandelion coffee made from the roots..the dandelion is not to be laughed at allthough i know you dont like them in your tidy gardens..it is rich in vitamins A B and C...also rich in nutrient minerals..its an excellent herb to take ..and you can use the milky sap on your warts!!..dont pick them for drinking or eating where their are cars or factorys..if you want to you can grow a small patch just for harvesting..and drying..my front garden was over run with them yesterday but i have thrown them away now as i live on a busy road so they are of no use with all the traffic fumes..
