    Hi,
Any chance of the recipe for the dandilion coffee Zig?
It may already be on here but my phone won't let me use the sites search function.

    Cheers

Yep, no worries, just had a cup myself.

Quite simple, dig out as much as you can of the root. You want the brown covered bit, if there is a new white root coming off an old brown bit, don't use the white bit, just makes it a bit chicory type bitter, won't hurt you though.

Cut the top off just below the plant. Scrub the roots & then cut into small bits, spread them out on a baking tray & put them in oven on low heat until they are dry.

I put them in after baking bread & when they are nearly dry I open the door a smidgeon (Ryhmes with Widgeon) just to let the moisture out.

Once they are dry they will keep for years.

A good tablespoon of dried root per cup, simmer for 10 mins till liquid brown. Add milk & sugar to taste.

Very good for you, clears all sorts of impurities out of your liver & kidneys.

Have had up to 10 cups from same brew, colour gets less but still good flavour.:coffee:

Have just been digging more roots:parsnip:

Brought my trowel out with me today. Grass verges at roadside standbys will be plundered.
Prob need highways agency permission but can't see them being bothered.
If anyone asks I'll tell em due to nhs cutbacks we have to make our own remedies.

    Cheers

Dug some real mothers out of sisters side of veg patch today:dbgrtmb: Made the parsnips seem like carrots.

Just put a high viz jacket and a hard hat on, no one will bother you.

A site manager I know was a little late back from lunch when we were working in Bristol, he said he'd put his jacket and hard hat on and walked half way to Wales while they were building the second seven crossing. He just wanted to have a look at the new bridge & no one challenged him:DOH:

Good job he wasn't a terrorist.
