    Morning all,

This thread is for David Austin roses in all their unashamed glory.

Especially the ones he has named the English rose. Those repeat flowering shrub roses.

Post away as i need some ideas.

These are the ones I've got experience of - some of which I still have and some of which have been given away. Have to add that this is my experience in the situation I've grown them in and as we know, they can vary depending on where they are grown.

Gertrude Jekyll (stalwart which has the strongest scent and pink blooms which are most prolific - used as a short climber in my garden)
Golden Celebration (golden yellow, strongly scented and a good performer)
Jude the Obscure (pale peach colour - gorgeous and heavily scented when it performs but not as reliable or repeat flowering as others)
Princess Alexandra of Kent (huge pink blooms, not much scent)
Lady of Shalott (lovely orangey gold colour, but not much scent)
Lady Emma Hamilton (colour is hard to describe - lovely scent but not as reliable as others to perform)
Teasing Georgia (also used as a short climber - stunning pale yellow blooms, excellent repeat flowering but not much scent)
Sceptre'd Isle (lovely lovely pale pink colour, strong scent which reminds me of aniseed).

There are a couple of others which have caught my eye so would be interested to hear which others think would be best (if you have either of them): Lichfield Angel or Windemere.

I didn't buy mine direct from David Austin - they were cheaper elsewhere.

Now you've made me buy another one

        I've gone for Lichfield Angel.

Found a voucher code for 15% off the DA website - enter 'KJL' at checkout. If you're going to get them then it's cheaper to do it while they are still doing the bareroot ones :)

I have lady Emma Hamilton and it flowed reliably as long as fed. I love the colour!

Liquid rose food, think it was from poundland. Used half the recommended dosage but twice as often. This Rose is in a container by the way. But I still feed my roses in the ground too. Bonemeal in late winter then rose food April onwards.

I love David Austin Roses. I'm off to their plant centre on Monday. (I only live 5 mins away from them) I shall have to be very good, as we have exceptionally limited funds at the moment. These are just a few of the ones I have in containers on my patio and courtyard.

I also have Jubilee Celebration and Sweet Juliet. I'll have to take some piccies of those when their blooms open. If only the rain would stop!

This bed of 'Golden Jubilee' is looking good despite the rain.
