While down town today I intended to pick up a pack of bamboo canes for my beans to grow up. I went into a certain shop that is usually good value, and found the canes. Packs of 2 6ft canes, £2. I couldn't believe it. Wife said, 'No, the pack is obviously split, look for another one', but no, each pack contained just 2 canes, and it clearly said on the label pack of 2, £2.

They are still in the shop. I'll just have to order a big pack online.

Grow yourself an Arundo donax, you get some very reasonable canes from it each year.
Not as durable as bamboo but good for one year at least.:blue thumb:

Might be woth looking in Wilkos if you get over that way. - I bought some 8ft's at £1.98 for five, so I guess the 6ft's will be a little cheaper.

Just been in there and they had 2.4m and 1.5m. You could live with the extra length (or chop it off) and still get 3 for free by comparison to Clueless's "bargain":dbgrtmb:

Not bean canes, but I bought a load of 900mm/3 foot canes with 20 in a pack from Home Bargains last week for 89p a pack, and the quality was far superior to the ones (wispy twigs) in Poundland.

I think I'm just going to order some off t'interweb.

Wilkos is ok, but I tend to come out with things I don't really need so it gets expensive.

B&Q is no good, as I'm still in a huff with them:loll:

Morrisons usually do them at a good price.

Not sure really. A lot of companies are selling batches of 50 for about a tenner. That will probably do me.

I keep forgetting about Morrisons. Good call. They also sell off their black buckets for 99p per pack of 8. Drill a few drain holes in them and they are great temporary homes for shrubs and young trees.

Regarding Wilko's - control yourself Clueless. Go in, get what you NEED and leave.
B&Q. Your only hurting yourself. They won't miss your donation. If it's what you want at a proce that's acceptable, bite the bullet and take the deal.
Think of all the beans you're going to miss out on.
