Nice title, Platty! And glad you've stated the rules that were being discussed last month, Nathan!
Just one question - is cropping allowed? I think most of us would think that was ok?

I don't see the problem, as you are not altering the image, in fact you are removing some of it ;)

Yes - thanks for making the rules very clear. I certainly agree that it is important to take the photos during the relevant month. Also, keeping enhancement just to borders and cropping is essential so that it is fair to everyone.

    Should be fun :D

Hornbeam, that photo of the Big Issue seller is just perfect for the brief for this month. It's worthy of one of the photo sections in the "Sundays". Brilliant!!!

The Big Issue seller really moved me. She sits on a milk crate every day in the cold and the wet and I just ignore her like most people do - dismissed as a scrounger. Then I spoke to her and asked her permission to take a photo. It was then that I realised that she was a person with feelings and dignity. Now I look at her face in the picture and wonder who she is, where she came from and what will become of her.

Something of the real Christmas Spirit touched cynical old me.

Your story reminds me of a previous posting Hornbeam.

Didn't someone post a message about a young (beggar/down and out or somesuch) fellow that was an artist and s/he was hoping to persuade this young man to sell his pics and asked if anyone on GC would be interested in purchasing one. There were several people that said yes.

Anybody know what the outcome of that was?

That was Whiley, jjordie. Think he used to hang out in front of the video shop she works/worked for. I never heard any more about it but then Whiley was away for some time unwell.
