Why not try a decoy owl, that seems to work for a lot of folk. My neighbour at my last house had one of those owl candles (he bought it for 50p in a charity shop) He varnished it and it lasted all the time I lived next door to him. 20years with no pigeons - great going.

A falcon silhouette sticker is a great way to prevent birds flying against a window, it really works. I'd be a bit more skeptical with the scarecrow adaption as animals tend to learn and a motionless figure on low heights might just not do the trick when an animal is hungry. Personally, I wouldn't pay big sums on anything because anyways the pests will get used to one thing sooner or later.

Not if my experience is anything to go by.

Beside our allotments, there are brand new warehouses just built, with wires streatched over the roof and along the ridges.

They also have large fake owls at each corner, where do the seagulls perch, right beside the owls.

    Cheers

Hi, thanks for your replies, :thku: yes at £20 s00k it was a bit pricey thats why i thought i would ask , so its continue with the netting ect, as its pigeons, sparrows and pheasants that we mostly have to contend with apart from the catterpillers of course :( . su :flwsml:

They will work.... to an extent!!!

The important thing is to move it around a bit so the pigeons etc don't get used to it, the exact same principle as using a plastic heron to deter real herons from fish ponds.

Watching QI on Dave last night - this very topic was discussed.
A 7 foot plastic crocodile was found to be much more of a deterrent than other birds!!!

Not sure if that is worth a try!!! Could perhaps get a kids blow up one and see how you go
