My sympathies are with you Kathy! I'm off to my dentist today in he hope he'll finally pull the tooth that's had an abcess behind it for 3 years! I don't have a 300 mile round trip mind! I can walk! My practice have just gone 'Denplan' too hich means £120 a year policy for the couple of check ups and a clean & polish that used to cost about a 3rd of that!

I don't want to get political (or at least Political) but the dental services are in an even bigger mess then much of the rest of the health service. My dentist withdrew from public life last year after 'borrowing' half a million pounds from the NHS. Early this year my crown dropped out. (It's happened before.) I couldn't get a dentist to put it back but three of them were willing to do me a new one for around £300. Eventually I found another N.H. dentist in a town 10 miles away who put it back for £7.50. Only trouble is, she is Polish and doesn't speak a word of English. I have to mime everything. :(

Kathy, can you believe I got the time wrong!! How come when that happens you never turn up half an hour early! Re-booked for 2 weeks time!

Still - I went for a long walk on the coast with my dad. Don't spend as much time with him as I should so getting up early wasn't a complete waste!! :D (note that the smiley has nice teeth!)

Thanks Kathy. It's not too bad now. I had antibiotics - again - until about 10 days ago and still have a yellow tongue from them! The abscess seems to have settled again - it had been leaking through the gum. I knocked a bit off the tooth too so I'm looking forward to seeing the back of it!

You're right! A day out with my dad was really special! Will post some photos on the appropriate thread! [IMG]

Most of you seem to be having trouble getting a decent dentist, I have been having a course of treatment recently and its working out pretty good.
I get one front filling, one back filling, two extractions and a descale for 47 quid, or there abouts, not bad I thought.
