I have a recommendation to buy Honda's least powerfull lawn tractor for mowing my plot, but need to make sure it has enough power to drag the right tools.

I have to dethatch half an acre and Honda supply a rake you can tow. Does anyone have an experience you can share using rakes and trailers for lawn tractors please?

No but I did have a petrol Manta. A lot of the lawn disappeared after using it and the moss etc took a lot of raking up afterwards and disposing off. The lawn grew back OK. However it was a lot of hard work after the dethaching. Perhaps you could could hire the equipment to give it a test run before buying.

Thank very much. You could have saved me £200 and a lot of work.

      What do you use now?

We moved house from damp Ayr to the south coast to be near Grandchildren and use moss killer that also includes chemicals that encourages grass growth as soon as I spot any moss it gets a dose. The moss turns brown a dies and the grass grows through it. That is my experience anyway. On the other hand you could go with your original idea and press gang a lot of friends in with rakes and plastic bags. I had no volunteers to help out so the actual dethatching did not take very long but the rest of the job took me days and several trips to the recycling centre with my full plastic bags.

So moss is your main target rather than a routine dethatch. I feel you're pain because I get no help as well. I think I'll wait for early autumn and use hire a scarifier. Bound to be a lot of mess with that but most of the grass should stay put. Enjoy your move!
