Diascia and blue lobelia: cuttings?

    I lost my diascia last year, and nearly lost the blue lobelia ( patens?) so had to buy new plants this year.

    Is it too late to take cuttings? The diascia stems are still very soft and green, with plenty of new growth, the lobelia is more woody.
