paid a visit to dibleys, the specialist streptocarpus nursery, last week. its quite a drive to get there, its pretty remote along some B roads with dubious surfacing.... but well worth it for the lovely location in the clwyd hills.

You can look around the enormous greenhouses and stroll in the gardens (£3 entry for gardens), which are mainly shrubs and trees (a gorgeous Rhododendron thomsonii in full flower at the mo). The staff in the shop were very friendly and helpful, they did not have much on display but were happy to get me anything I wanted from the glasshouses. Below is a photo of the Rhodie and the streps I bought (photos from their glasshouses, mine are not in flower yet), along with three lovely foliage begonias and a Kohleria 'Sunshine'. They sent one of the streps to my mum for mothers day and made sure they timed the postage so my mum was likely to be in. The total for all this was £36, which i thought was really reasonable.

I would deffo recommend a visit, but if you value the suspension on your car too much then its all online and mail order :)

I've bought from Dibley's online. The plants arrived when they said they would, in good condition with good care instructions. No complaints at all!
