I have a dicentra (red) that I would like to divide and move - actually i forgot to do this in the autumn!
Do you think it would harm the plant if i were to do this now? The flowers are so lovely that i dont want to be without this year!
Incidentally it is just begining to sprout.

Hi Dicentra should be divided in the spring not Autumn. Don't do it yet if the ground is frozen!

The ground is fine at the moment. So now is a good time to divide it? - not after flowering?

    Just checking!

    Hi all,
Sorry to bring up an old post.
I have a red bleeding hearts (Dicentra) and was wondering what I should do with it now.
It has flowered. Do I need to cut it back or just leave it and let nature take it's course?

Snappers, unless the plant must be moved, or you want to propagate it, leave it to itself, and it will do fine! ;) Welcome to the forums!

    Thanks Ivory.
    And thanks for the welcome.
I wasn't sure where to go for the answer to my question but found this place.
I'm sure it is going to be of great help to me.
