Yep I were a bit surprised as well . I grow Cafe au lait a few years ago but it come out pink like Rose annoyingly . I am growing Twist this year just need to pot it up .

 

Same thing happened to me Perki,there is nothing more annoying than planning a colour scheme and it's not what you expected..

 

Hi @Spruce, there is also a Cafe Au Lait Royal now (pink, cream, fuchsia) so loads to choose from and the breeders come up with more every year. Labyrinth now has a Twotone and a Red now as well.

I grow loads of Cafe Au Lait and some are pinkish, some cream, and some striped on the rear (photos of one below). I grow lots of the dinner plate and decorative types and then twice as many of the pollinator ones such as the Honka's, the Bishops and other singles to keep the bees and butterflies happy too. You can't have too many dahlias I think!
