So this is year two as a gardener. I am about to start planning what and when and where. I still only have plastic grow homes and not a greenhouse. I always said that after year two I would invest.

So last year I started most bits off at the end of Feb and March on my windowsills. Come June I was ok to sow outdoors.

I am considering an electric propagator to help things along. Worth it?

Do I keep seedlings in until a few cm big and then swap out and sow some more?

Ooooh. Got that excited feeling again!

New gardening toy? Always worth it!

Keep seedlings in propagator until they have decent root system before potting on.

      Enjoy

An electric prop is definitely worth it. I whip out anything that has germinated in mine quite quickly as the seedlings will go leggy if I don't. They get pricked out when they have developed a second set of leaves which are the true leaves. Bury the root up to the base of the first set of leaves. :blue thumb: You can pot them on again like loofah says when they have a good root system.

@GYO newbie , lots on here have the Garland Super 7 electric prop . I have had mine for about 8 years now . Just plug it in and it fits on a windowsill for a bit of light. Seem to be about £xxx on Ebay.

LINK AND PRICE DELETED . I had attached the wrong item !

Have just bought one of those to supplement my other propagators! The pic is the electric heated version currently sitting on my dining room table awaiting unpacking...
