Firstly i'd like to apolagise for not being around much over the last few weeks or so.Ive just been sooo busy.
Anyway, disaster has struck.I have about 700 sq meters of garden, which is owned by the landlord of the house. He has now decided to use the land for building. He's already been in talks with architects, and its now just a matter of time.
What i'm trying to say,is that i'm pretty much outa here. With no garden,i dont need gardening advice.
I will though, with your permission, pop back and stick photos in the competitions.
To those that dont venture that far,it was nice knowing you all,and thanks for the great advice.
To those that do venture, keep the photos coming in,they're all great. Will see you there soon.

    This is jjdecay(Joe),signing off.
    Bye.

:( Oh jjdecay, that is so sad to hear... Why does everyone always want to build on the last bit of ground...!!!! Well you don't need to have a garden to come on here, although it probably helps... :D Pop back when you can & if you still want to enter the comps then that is fine too... Maybe have to get into pot plants...!!! ;) :D Take care & see you soon I hope.... [IMG]

jjdecay,Sorry to hear that you are leaving us.

Why is everyone selling off their gardens these days is beyond me.It is all greed for money I think. :( It doesn't matter if you have acres of land or like us a small garden or even a window box,it is nice to come on here and chat to friends and either give or receive gardening advice. The photos are also a bonus of what sort of gardening ideas people have or the type of plants and vegetables that they grow as well as the insects and holiday photos etc...

So if you see these messages please give it another thought before you leave for good. [IMG]

    Thanks for your kind words.
I will be left with a bit,but that'll be used for the kids sandpit, washing line etc.I might be able to do something with borders, but to be honest, its knocked the wind out of my sails and i'm not sure if i can be arsed anymore.Hopefully thats just the way i feel at the moment.
Will try and get some pics up when the bulldozers start ripping down my beautifull plum and apple trees.

Sorry to hear about that jjdecay.

It is the same up our way, people sell off parts of their garden, often not large in the first place, and another house is built on it. Some of the plots are so small that once the house is built, the people can just about walk around it.

Hope you find another house with garden and please do pop in to GC and let us know how things are going. Not to forget posting pics in the competitions!

    Good luck in house hunting.

Oh Joe how heartbreaking for you to see your lovely garden being ripped away from you only to be replaced by buildings, my heart goes out to you it really does.
I hope you fight back and whatever's left you are able to make a tiny Eden for your self and family to enjoy no matter how small it is.
Good luck and don't give up! [IMG]

It's quite a serious situation, did anyone see the programmes on the selling off of brown land which is what they call peoples gardens.

Apparantly the building companys prefer to buy brown land and not waste industrial land as that would need to be treated before they could build homes.

But where is England going to be without it's gardens?

Tthe more concrete we have the more flooding we have as rain water just can't drain away as quickly.

Sorry to hear of your bad news jjdecay.

Hi, jjdecay. Please don't give up. Surely you will be fenced off from this disaster ... start thinking about climbing plants and scrambling shrubs, perhaps a bay tree in a pot by the back door or plants on trellises against the house.

See you round the photo comps! [IMG]
