Disaster with strimmer & black current bush, please help (photo)

    Lost control of strimmer today and it has taken the bark off the base of my black current bush that was just beginning to thrive. The bask is gone all the way around for about 3 inches and gone half the way around about 4 inches worth a little higher. Is there anything I can do to at all save this bush or is it a gonna.

    Here's a photo, any suggestions would be mightly appretiated :-)
