This has been a disastrous (and expensive) year.

My garlic leaves all collapsed and went soggy so I decided to pull some up to see whether they were ready. The bulbs were tiny, slightly mushy on outside and had what looked like white slugs all over them. I thought slugs were meant to hate garlic... I had initially blamed the non-stop rain for their demise but now thinking it must be these beasties.

All my onions, that were doing well, they had their leaves eaten and didnt grow.

I wasnt too bothered by the fact the tomatoes, peppers and chili's didnt grow more from shoots as I thought at least I'd have garlic. :(

Early spuds were fine, carrots fine and courgettes fine.

    I'm gutted :(

Google search only suggests that garlic and slugs don't get on

We're all in the same boat this year Moopants. I would have been better off eating my onion sets, slugs have eaten all the leaves.
