          £22! :hate-shocked:

          When I was a lad :heehee: ...
In the early days of Disneyworld we wanted to buy a two week pass and they told us that an annual pass was cheaper than buying two weekly passes (didn't do anything for two weeks). So we had to go to a special department to get the annual pass. This turned out to be a credit card type pass with our photos on it - just like an employees pass. Bearing in mind that this was the early days of electronic passes they had to put a lot of info into the computer and this included our full address. Unfortunately the computer wasn't set up to take non-U.S. addresses

This was solved by the manager putting in her own address, which was excellent customer service. The annual pass cost us $39 :heehee:. The great thing about it, apart from being a very reasonable price, was that we wore the pass on a lanyard around our necks and were able to walk past all the queues at the entrance to the parks and just zap it through the barrier that was specifically for employees and annual pass holders. :dbgrtmb:

My parents had a similar problem to yours @shiney when we went in the early 90's so got a yearly pass for a 2 week hol too! Prices have shot up since then.

@redstar, sorry to break to you Harry potter world is in Universal Studios, these prices are for Disney parks and UK and Ireland residents only :( ..unless you can get someone over here to buy them and send them?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter really is worth a visit if you get the chance though. We went in 2011 and it was awesome, heard its added extras since.. I'm not even a fan of Harry Potter! My daughter was 4 at the time and can't remember much so this trip will be really special for her plus she gets to ride on the Simpsons Ride this time round!

Funnily enough, the Florida/Disney World experience appeals to me not one jot! :sofa:

We did take a long weekend at Disneyland Paris a number of years ago now, and all it signified was: queues, outrageously expensive edibles/drinks, more queues, shedloads of people (all pushy-pushy-elbows and rudeness!) for comparatively little in terms of quality time/enjoyment :dunno:

Think I would rather stick size 10 knitting needles into my eye sockets: slowly!! :heehee:

But, great offer for those who enjoy all that and ... thank you for sharing it with us

I can understand and sympathise! I really do. I actually hated Disneyland Paris for the reasons you mentioned.. and the food and merch is hiked up A LOT in ALL parks. If you go the "thrift/gift" shops in America though, you can get last years merch at a fraction of the price (we always do for friends/relatives! :heehee:)

With Disney world you can get free shuttles to and from each park (and to your hotel) so it's pretty flexible and with those tickets you have a "fast pass" on rides meaning you can skip the regular queues.. God I'm good at free advertising :/ I'm really not one of those Disney freaks (my sister is) who wait for the parades, I honestly just go for the rides and water parks

thanks @Linz . was not getting to excited yet. I am an AAA member and get a discount at Disney anyway. Yes, been to the Harry Potter world already the year it opened up, in FLORIDA. now that it is expanded, I want to go back again. We have timeshares like 5 mins from there there. So its a matter of committing which week etc. prefer going when the kids are in school, less crowds. And I can get a free car with points with my credit card. did it that way before.

I am not a general Florida fan myself, but its what I got over here. The only part of Florida I love is the Keys.

We really enjoyed Disneyworld but it was in the days when there didn't seem to be all that much crowding. It was Epcot where we spent most of our time and that didn't appeal much to the children so families rarely spent much time in there.

The science was interesting/fascinating, their depiction of different countries was excellent and the food was good. Thirty five years ago it wasn't all that common to be able to eat in a different country's restaurant every evening. :blue thumb: Sitting on, what appeared to be, an open terrace at night overlooking the Mexican rain forest with rumbling volcanoes in the far distance and watching the boats taking people along the river through the forest whilst we ate excellent Mexican food is still strong in my mind.

Good 3D films and 360 degree films weren't available here in those days. Seeing food plants being grown in soil brought back from the moon was certainly a novelty and I enjoyed the fireworks displays.

Although there was music everywhere it was low key and quite pleasant.

I didn't go on any of the uncomfortable rides but did go on the others.

Would I go back. Probably not. I don't think that my pass would work. :heehee:
