I'll post links to the photobucket images due to their size. If I reduce them more you may not see properly as I had to fight with all the leaves in order to get a photo :lollol:

Errrr, yes! If anything, they look like you should pick them quick as they become more watery (apparently) if they get too big. I probably cut mine when they are just about the length of a dvd case. Or are you being funny and I didn't get it? Or am I totally misinterpreting the size of the courgettes?

    Liz :hehe:

Hi Snowbaby, they all look fine & ready for picking to me..!!! Sometime the first ones are funny shapes but the more you pick the better quality they become & you will have plenty.. Most of todays courgettes do not need us to pollinate them either these days.. :D So time to get cooking I think.....

    Ta daaaaaaaaaaaa!

Added a knife for size comparison. Can I use those smaller, misshapen ones or only the 2 bigger ones? I have 3 courgette plants and there's a few more fruits coming now!

:gnthb: Well Done..!!! :D Yes you can eat the misshapen ones too.. Keep the plants well watered daily if in pots & feed weekly & you will not be disappointed.. Picking those 1st ones stimulates the plants to produce more female flowers & then your lovely courgettes.. :thumb:

:D No of course it is not sad, it is a huge acheivment & you should be pleased & proud..!! :D No looking back now then, next year you will be even more ambitious I bet.. :gnthb: BTW, grate them up & put them in your pasta sauce when you fry the mushrooms & then let them cook along in the tomato sauce & they help to thicken it...

Absolutely not, it's a great achievment. It's a lovely feeling when you grow your own and serve it up on a plate - well done! :thumb:

    Well done, Snowbaby :yho:

The courgettes will now start growing like mad :thumb:. You will be amazed at how many you will get from your three plants. Now you are going to have to find loads of different recipes for them.

I use them in lots of different ways. For the hot days they can be made into a lovely creamy cold soup (fry onions, a tiny bit of garlic, chopped courgettes, pinch of herbs, stock, seasoning to taste, blitz it and chill - you can stir in some cream before serving or add a little coconut milk to the cooking).

Enjoy them whichever way you decide to use them - they are very versatile.

Well I harvested those in the photo above, a week ago today... and harvested 2 last night with about 3 still growing! Wow they grow fast!

I'm googling for a nice courgette sauce to have over chicken for our dinner tonight!

    Top notch 'jets those, Snowbaby.

I'm jealous - mine have been rubbish this year for some reason. I'm usually buried in the damn things too.
