I don't agree with him, I actually think that some things are worth preserving.

How can you disagree with him if you dont know what he's saying ? :)

I agree with him. He's basically saying, there's more important things to worry about or get wound up about in the world at the moment. As long as it doesn't harm others, let people get on with what they want, as long as it makes them happy.

At the end of the day its only words and a bit of paper. It doesn't affect anyone else.

I'm more concerned about the people who want to kill other people for not believing in the same imaginary friend as they do.

        ^ this !

A thousand times this, can't agree more.

Sad thing is, very few imaginary friend clubs don't call into this category.

Live and let live, it can only affect the couple themselves so let everyone else butt out and mind their own business. If the person marrying the couple is qualified and happy to do it then that is all that matters.

Considering it is doubling as a Baby Shower, you have to consider it already has.
              The mind boggles:rolleyespink::huh:

If the law is changed so that these "words" are said in church, it will mean the end of the christian church as we know it. Good thing? I don't think so.

Changing one aspect of the rules around marriage will mean the end of the Christian church ?!?! Oh please don't talk utter rubbish !

And whether that would be a good thing or not is down to personal opinion.

I'm not religious, not been in a church for years.
I do think the church should have the right to say no, if it goes against their principles.

Just happens to be a very fundamental rule which they want to change!! and it would be the end of the christian church "As we know it" which is what I said before.

Oh, I see what you are getting at now, the Church aspect of marriage rather than just marrying whatever takes your fancy wherever you want.

Well, it is against Christian teaching so they can refuse to do it on those grounds, as long as they uphold everything else that is against Christian teaching. Otherwise it would be hypocritcal.

If I was Gay (which my computer keeps telling me I am)

I really wouldn't want to get married by an institution that tells me that Homosexuality is an abomination & that i'm going straight to hell for it:what:

Same as not being too keen on joining the PLF if I was Jewish.
