I didn't, till this morning and had a big surprise :yikes: where we walk a lot i thought i get the fork out and loosen the soil, well in one place the fork went in nice and easy, a little bit too easy, 4 inches backwards the same  so i took off the turf and had a bit of a surprise, a bit of a hole, 5 foot deep, 7 foot long by 2 foot, so it was out with the wheel barrow and fill it in ASAP, 6 barrows of rubble and 4 barrows of soil later, could have lost Miss Jiff for ever !!!!!!!

Didn't take pictures of the hole as i wanted to get it safe first, but here some with the hole nearly filled "busted"

      Good grief!! :thud:
Thank goodness you discovered it before it devoured one of you!!! :nonofinger:

Actually, thank goodness you had enough rubble and stuff to hand to fill it with

Hmm, something about those dimensions though @Jiffy ... :th scifD36: .... haven't had anyone go "missing" at all? Previous owner, perhaps?

I have a large section of my lawn dropped, next to the concrete path, which has also dropped about an inch, had it inspected as these bungalows are not 9 years old yet, when the remedial work was done over 4 years ago, the entire front garden was removed and filled back with fresh soil, the consensus was the under filling of the path was not done properly, and with all the wet weather where it was loose has dropped taking part of the lawn soil, I am waiting to see what is going to be done to put it right.

I only discovered it with the fork, we have been walk over the area all winter and i even went over it with the lawn mower (ride on) 2 day before

but didn't find any thing odd only a big hole but i was surprise how the soil that was bridging (4inches) the hole held us walk over it
Just a small hole, i'm used to digging bigger holes with my digger
