    Mira,Is it a Lychees?Not sure of the spelling but I have seen something like this before and I think that is what it is [​IMG]

    It is, although in early stage of ripening

    Kandy. It doesn't look quite right somehow for a lychee. Unfortunately there is no other member of this family (Litchi or soapberry). Maybe it's just younger than the ones I've seen. But when young they are reddish. (No not radish, that's another burp). These are very green. Mira do you know if they are perennial, I would assume so looking at them but you know me. I am a specialist in being wrong. They look exotic so the people who may know (sorry if I miss you out) are: BM (who wasn't eaten by a monkey after all), Pete (who should be), Walnut, Strongy and if they are European LoL.

    Must admit the pear rather than oval shape fooled me but I haven't seen unripe Lychees before, only like this in Tenerife.

    There is a close relative, the Rambutan which is even more tropical the skin is bright red and hairy, the fruit is similar to a lychee and tastes just as good. [​IMG]
