For the past few years I've gone for a pink theme for a lot of my plants - especially Roses and Rhododendrons. The odd purple thrown in, such as Rhododendron Marcel Menard, which is the most stunning colour.

Last year I was at a garden centre buying some Roses and came across a Teasing Georgia, which they had growing up a trellis in a pot :wub2: It looked so beautiful that I bought it and went on to buy a couple of peachy/apricot/orange Roses - Lady of Shalott and Lady Emma Hamilton.

This year I find almost everything I'm buying is yellow/peach/apricot - including some Alpines, Clematis (Golden Tiara), Rhododendrons (Hotei, Tortoiseshell Champagne, Percy Wiseman, Horizon Monarch), deciduous Azalea (Anneke), Lilac (Primrose) and have just bought another yellow Rose (Golden Celebration) . I've also got a hankering for a tree Peony (probably Kinkaku, which is a gorgeous mix of yellow/pink).

Luckily the colours look lovely with the pinks (Sceptre'd Isle, Princess Alexandra of Kent and Lady Emma Hamilton) ...

Do your colour tastes vary now and then or do you always prefer the same colour schemes and are there any colours you would never have in your garden? Gotta be blue for me - my least favourite colour on anything, even flowers (it's a shame I support Manchester City then :snork:).

A mix of colours for me I think, rather than one :) I'm still waiting to see what I've got in my 'new' garden :)

I love the hot colours, but, I also like the vivid blues and purples. In fact I think I love every colour, nothing more beautiful as a flower. Well, as well as mrs al and of course my 2 boys!

I am mostly a fan of whites, bueish, lilac, pinkish and so on at the moment but to say that I definitely prefer one colour to the other when it comes to flowers...tough thing to say!

Me too I'm hot colours and also like green foilage
I tend to plant a lot of annuals as i like to chop and change colour schemes :snork:
But I'm planing a blue and red perennial border for next year. Not everyone's cup of tea.

My tastes (and dislikes) stay the same, although interests do shift. Since I moved house I've got more into exotic bulbs and tubers as they're easier to overwinter, and this year I'm building up a collection of hardy/hardyish succulents.
I'm still rather obsessed by climbers.

I'm still developing my tastes really - not been gardening long enough, and don't know enough about it to say that I have changing tastes.

I am a sucker for a mallow or similar though, as well as some of the more traditional cottage favourites - lavatera, malva, petunia, morning glory, hollyhocks, lupins, roses, fuchsias etc.

And in fairness, I do the 'Ooooh, Aaaahhh, pretty - - must have...' thing on a fairly regular basis, so the list above is always liable to expand :snork:
