Does anyone know what this tree is ?

Hi all :D

I've just started to sort out my garden, it was pretty overgrown and I've cleard a lot of stuff from around this small tree I have.

I have no idea what it is though?? Any ideas??

I think it maybe a cornus (dog wood) of some kind.

I think Pete is right, it could be Cornus controversa (clusters of small flowers) or C florida or C kousa (colourful bracts resembling flowers) - all have good autumn colour, spring flowers & berries when mature. This may be some help

That tree or something very similar self sows around here. Presumably its the birds.

I did have a lot of stems growing up from the bottom, and looked a bit bush like, but I trimmed them back cos I like to better looking like a tree :D

Thanks very much for the link Bayleaf :D It's not had any flowers or berries as yet, perhaps in the spring it might :D

This one is really pretty, and the leaves are similar :D
