Does anyone remember leg warmers in the 60's & 70's

    I am knitting these in chunky wool.

    Dunno about the 60's and 70's but they were back last year in bright yellow, pink, orange & green !

    I was horrified when I my 15 year old son was wearing them ice skating lol

    Yep me too. My 2 favourite pairs were

    One pair in bright primary coloured stripes Red Green and Yellow
    and the other gold and sparkly!

    They had a huge comeback when the series Fame cam eout-I had a load of them lol.

    Even worse fashion trend in the 80s were the ankle socks in illuminous colours lol.

    Funnily enough, I am currently knitting some legwarmers in Noro Kurayon wool (it sort of goes from one colour to another as you knit). I thought I'd wear them over my leggings in winter.
    I was thinking of making arm-warmers too (same but narrower), or fingerless, long gloves.
    It's a good way to use up leftover wool.

    Tirella nice and cosy love your colours,Kathy no need to say sorry its great to see a few of us with this hobby.

    And yes I am also going to make wrist and arm warmers and more leg warmes using King Cole wool its great crochet with.

    I am croching a poncho in purple King Cole got one side finished and half of other .

    Leg warmers for me were the long trousers we got to wear in 6th year at school. Before that it was shorts, summer and winter!

    Hi Tiarella, love your legwarmers. I love knitting in rainbow wool, I enjoy seeing how the colours turn out. :)
    A great idea to share patterns of tried and tested garments.
