Does Cosmos need staking

Hi everyone

does it need staking ?

I’ve never had too except for the odd one that’s maybe got bashed about in bad weather. If it’s one of the tall varieties, I do make sure they are properly firmed in when I plant them out. The only time I had floppy cosmos was a patch planted out carelessly in a hurry and they were only just planted - plonked and too shallow (I had to admire them for still growing so big and healthily despite the shoddy start

 

I take out the growing tip and end up with nice bushy plants.

 

I always intend to pinch them out but rarely do

 

Once or thrice ?

 

As and when needed.
