Does what it says on the tin / Does what it promises

    I've seen an advert for a range of cleaning products. The tag line is: HG does what it promises.

    Which reminds me of ronseal, Does what it says on the tin.

    I know companies steal ideas off each other, but 'does what it promises' is in my opinion less catchy that 'does what it says on the tin'.

                @clueless1 - their products are actually really good. I have used a few variations that I get from my local hardware independent and have had a lot of success. Their glass/window cleaner is particularly good.

                  I always thought "does what it says on the tin" was an old saying going back many years . But no , a quick Google , it was initiated by Ronseal in 1994.
