First of all i would like to say HI! to everyone as this is my first post.

just about to convert a peice of wasted garden to make a vegetable patch. problem is that the old family mutt has been using it as a toilet for he last couple of months. how should i go about preparing it and would it do any harm to our health if i just cleared the site and planted the new veggies.

    thanks for looking

Hi Mikey. Welcome to GC. If your dog has been using it for a couple of months then I wouldn't worry healthwise. Just clear it and cordon it off so he can't pooh on the plants. If dog manure was as valuable as horse/cow/chicken manure then, round here I could make a fortune. Unfortunately it doesn't contain the right nutrients so it won't help your crops and if you don't stop him will have the opposite effect.
