dog tongue ripped out

Poor Jack Russell was being taken for a walk, in Scotland, a Harrier Hawk was being trained nearby, when it swooped down, sunk its talons in the poor animal, then proceeded to tear out his tongue.

The owner has a terrible dilemma, as the poor dog is unable to feed itself, should he put the dog to sleep? What a sad story.

Never heard of such a thing, sounds awful.
Surely the dog cant even drink.

I'd be inclined to go along with whatever the vet has to say.

I'd say that one is beyond help Victoria and should have been put down soon after the incident, god knows why they kept the poor animal alive?
Lets face it, they was going to eat the poor thing in the first place.

I really hate these links that Sis and 'other people' put up / send me as I do find it quite distressing.

I just think of the agony the poor animal must have suffered, Victoria.
I very much doubt it received much in the way of medical care after the accident.
