.....well I've been out and done a bit, first proper bit of work in the garden of 2014 :)

I've cut back some of my group 3 Clematis that I usually cut hard back in Feb/March, as the winter has been mild so far, some had a good 2-3 inches of new growth already so I thought before they get carried away I would chop them back a bit to kerb their eagerness :snork: I've not chopped them right back yet as no doubt we'll get a cold snap before the spring comes :)

I've also done some general tidying of perennials that I had left to look good in the frost (that we haven't really had yet), but the wind had flattened all the old growth.

I've also raked over the veg patch, just to tidy it up, its going to take some drying out before the spuds go in late Feb/early March, its sodden , not surprisingly though :snork:

Just good to be out with a brew in hand :coffee::snork: :blue thumb:

      Nice one Bilob :)

Just a thought, how about ridging and furrowing the potato patch so that you can get a catch crop of lettuce on the ridges before you earth the spuds up ? If you do it now the ridges will drain & drier soil warms up better :)
