dreadful week

what a terrible week we have had,after my son marks dog zak and his close call
its now marks 43 turn he started with pains in his chest on friday put it down to heartburn,got so bad tues he went to doctor,they did an ECG everything was fine,tues night was rushed to hospital they did 2 different ECGS all was fine, this morning they gave him another and was having heart attack at the time,this afternoon they did angeogram
and had to insert 2 heart stents ,they told me he was a lucky young man,
he was supposed to go offshore yesterday and it was put off till tomorrow , so thankfully he was at home, so you cant be sure whats in front of you, mark has not got a bit of fat on him doesent drink ,works hard, never been ill a day in his life, and here he is the baby of the cardiac ward

What a lot to cope with

Positive thoughts coming your way - and Mark's

 

thank you all so much ,means a lot to me and my family
today better news ,mark feels brand new ,he still has a bit to do
doctors think maybe with medication they can treat the other arteries
cant tell you a lot about it, he has to go for heart scan on monday
he was allowed a shower this morning, and he is allowed to walk around his bed
and no more comfort bottles, may i say that kinda knocked him for 6,
he is not shy by any means ,but a very private young man,nurses have been so good to him, and to all of us they deserve a special thanks,we can just hope and pray after monday he wont need any more stents, will talk to you all on monday and keep you up to date, once again we all thank you so much,it does help to talk

i have been watching this thread and am glad that small progress is being made every day. it will be slow but i hope its steady improvement - such a young man to have this happen

Hi Kathy, I'm sorry to read about what has happened but so pleased Mark is making a good recovery.
We tend to moan a bit about hospital waiting times etc but in an emergency they are there for us

he has had heart scan all looks well with stents, allowed home
has to go back in 6 weeks ,keeping an eye on him ,making sure medication
is helping him, he says he feels great ,just to take care and gentle walking
still nobody knows if he can still play his pipes,and teach his little ones in the band
funny how your mind works,we have told him that will all come in time
he dosent want to let the kids down
