Met him many moons ago at the Lowther County Horse Show (Cumbria?). Our friend was in charge of the sound equipment there. He and his "men" had a caravan on the hill down from us and he invited us to their BBQ But we politely declined. A true gentleman he wandered around speaking to everyone with his guards in close proximity. Only saw the Queen from the distance. I have a pendant I bought there. RIP
Think he had a good sense of humor. I wondered why they were showing those pictures of him in a swimming pool trying to get on that airbed last night. They knew he was about to pop his clogs.
The BBC and channel 4 has stopped all the usual programmes and doing a tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh.
Yep, I think we have seen enough now, its just going round and round. Hours of solid TV will not bring him back, so lets just pause now, have a reality check and go back to covid, err I mean normal. As usual the media are making a meal of it. He had a great life, serving the crown and country, and also doing all the things he liked doing, privileged pretty much and managed to reach nearly 100. How many of us will manage that?
I watched about an hour then it started to repeat and switched over and it was the same. Think I've learnt enough now, I suspect this will be milked for a long time as a distraction from Covid.
